don't know how many people remember the Ithas bow and the others that came with the Prophesies preorder, but I still use mine every so often.

I recently ran across someone who had the GOTY edition and said the bow he had from that was max dmg.

My question; Why do newer players with the GOTY edition of the game get better weapons than those of us who've been with the game since beta? I for one would like the option of using my Ithas all the way through the game, even upgrading it a bit and make it an actually viable weapon for more than just Pre-Searing.

how about the people that bought the game of the year edition for retail price, when if they waited they could have just bought the upgrade from the online store for 5 bux?

I think the mindset of the game has drastically changed from the ole' days.

but as you can see, I have no real answer to offer, and I doubt you will ever get one other than..."keep up with the times"

Nobody says you can't use it through the entire game, it's only a couple points off max, and for PvE, that really doesn't matter. As for why they made it non-max. Imagine if they had made it max damage, on day 1 you would have had every single person who didn't get the preorder complaining how ANet was showing favoritism to group X of players. The game has been out for quite a while now, so pretty much everyone can get pretty much any item in the game right at the start if they desire which is why newer preorder / special items such as the GotY items are max damage.

so now would be a good time for them to go back and bump up our preorder items. If not, it's a waste of good skins at the least, and showing favoritism to the people who have Factions/Nightfall now.
